Yes we are accredited for sun smart and use the sun smart application to monitor UV alerts. We ensure the outdoor environment has adequate shade and that children have sunscreen applied. We ask you provide your child with a broad brimmed or legionnaire hat and clothing that covers the shoulders. "We strive to provide best practice early childhood education and care."

Learning through play allows children to build their knowledge, develop confidence, kindergarten near west pennant hills and embrace curiosity. Our Centre team, led by our experienced Centre Manager Sneha, prides themselves on creating a great sense of community for all families. At lunch-time, children come together and we get to slow down& feel a sense of belonging as part of a group.
A yarning circle and a sandpit are just two of the exciting resources on offer outside. Augustine Heights is an open-plan, light filled centre; your child’s home away from home. The Centre’s amazing outdoor play opportunities include a running creek, and a worm farm amongst many other natural structures. Pennant Hills Preschool and Kindergarten provides centre-based care for up to 39 approved spaces. We operate a community based not for profit preschool educating children from three years of age until school age.
We are committed to offering fun and educational excursions with every season. This is beneficial to the children because it offers them an experience to explore outside of the center where they can grow their confidence skills, self-awareness, adaptability and resilience. We use a blend of play-based and intentional teaching strategies, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), to ensure that each child’s experience is both joyful and meaningful.
It’s a wonderful way to help little ones connect with themselves and feel confident in their growing bodies. Cooking also supports important developmental skills such as counting, following steps, and using fine motor movements. Best of all, it encourages children to try new foods and develop a love for healthy eating from an early age.
Our formal preschool program runs from 9.30am to 3.00pm with a variety of learning centre and fun free-time activities available from 7.30am to 9.30am and after 3.00pm until home time. Yes, it is planned to be available for all primary children, with priority to be given to children currently enrolled at Blue Gum. Offered between 3 and 6pm each day and during term breaks, run onsite by Blue Gum educators. For Preschool children who would benefit from, or need to attend for a longer day, we ask you enrol your child in our full day program. This offers you the greatest flexibility with start and finish times, between 8am and 6pm. Eligible families can apply for Child Care Subsidy for Preschool and our Outside School Hours Care.

Normal forest gate opening times are 8.30am – 5pm, except during daylight saving times where they are open 8.30am – 6pm. Tree Tops Adventure Park is very popular with older kids and adults. If you and your kids want to check it out, it’s up near the Swains Picnic Area. Interpretive signage on the sensory trail encourages the walker to experience the forest and all its wonders with their senses. The sign says this one is a half hour walk but it only takes about 15 minutes. The ratings for Pennant Hills Preschool and Kindergarten were issued as of January 2024.

Once you have an approved claim with Centrelink, you will just provide your and your child’s CRN in your enrolment form. If you already have your child's Customer Reference Number (CRN), you can submit a claim online through the MyGov portal. Once your claim is approved, the CRN you provided us on the enrolment form will automatically update our system with your entitlements. If you do not have your child’s Customer Reference Number (CRN), you need to contact Centrelink to update your family status and add your child.
