Angus Best British Beef

Angus Best British Beef

Not only would beef from AAQB members be sold UK wide by Tesco, but for the first time England and Wales prices became available in Northern Ireland along with a 40p per kg premium for ‘in spec’ cattle. Our animals eat their natural diets, and we use no chemicals or pesticides. I'm not a great believer in short cuts and using burgers, as I thought £10 was pricey. I loved them and will use them for my quick meal on nights. So flavoursome go really well with dairylea on the top and bottom on the bun. These are so filling and one of the best tasting burgers out there.
A higher payment per hectare is available where 25% of the farm’s Livestock Units are accounted for by suckler production. The first cut of silage was taken on 26 June, 10 days later than usual, and yielded a disappointing 7t/acre. However, as a result of the excellent summer growing conditions, second cut yields were angus beef higher at approx. In addition to the 660t pit silage now in store, 15t additional silage has been harvested as round bales. This was the message given to a group of farmers at a recent Winter feeding and Animal health workshop organised by the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise in Markethill, Co Armagh.

Within a week I decided with a few friends of mine to start an online business retailing venison and free-range chickens. Halal Exotic Meats was incorporated on 16th May 2013, and we started our journey to source Halal venison and free-range organic chickens. Through the grace of Allah, we now have a network of farms in Yorkshire where we rear most of our products listed on our website. The Scotch label is a protected geographical indicator and is available across our beef range. This label ensures that every product is cut from cattle that are born, raised, and processed right here in Scotland on selected Scottish farms.
Sainsbury’s said it developed the range by bringing together its dairy and beef supply chains, reducing carbon through a combination of “superior cattle breeding and animal management”. This recipe takes the traditional roast beef and gives it a flavorful twist using an air fryer. The air fryer locks in the flavors and ensures even cooking, resulting in a perfectly cooked roast beef every time. At McCaskie’s we mature our sirloin on the bone for up to 35 days. The flavour is truly outstanding and this roast is best served rare to medium.
If you change your collection store or time slot your basket may be updated. Sorry, there are no time slots available at this store. Our Shorthorns focus on maternal traits to produce the finest genetics for both pedigree & commercial herds.

We grow lucerne which requires no nitrogen fertilizer, to produce a high protein feed which when mixed together with fodder beet which we also grow produces a perfect diet for growing cattle. The breeding herd spends the winter on the free draining fields at Wildfell Farm grazing fodder beet with some silage. We do not use any feed at all which is imported and in fact it is all grown either on the farms here or from within a 10 mile radius. They convert grass which we cannot digest into healthy beef and lamb whilst playing a major part in managing some very special habitats here in Cambridgeshire. If you’re looking for a delicious roasting joint to share with family and friends, we would recommend choosing your beef cut based on how you are cooking it.
Beefmaster is an American beef cattle breed produced by crossing Brahman with Shorthorn and Hereford to create a heat-tolerant animal with good beef production. Beefmaster cattle today are slightly less than half Brahman and slightly more than ¼ Hereford and ¼ Shorthorn. Rigid culling in range conditions, based on hardiness, disposition, fertility, growth, conformation, and milk production has created a superior beef animal that needs no pampering.

Shape each piece into a burger shape, cook on the grill and layer inside a bun with salad and sauce. High-quality beef tastes great with a simple salt and pepper seasoning, however, the meat also does a brilliant job of soaking up herbs and spices. Rub your beef with mustard, cumin, or curry powder, or sprinkle your beef with fresh garden herbs including rosemary, mint, or thyme. A beef joint for Sunday lunch is about as British as it gets, up there with Fish and Chips on a Friday or a bacon sandwich for breakfast. From a beef showstopper at Christmas to simply sprucing up your weeknight meals, it’s always a good idea to invest in high quality, ethical meat that not only tastes good, but is also better for your health.
The superior flavour and texture set these burgers apart from the rest. Their leanness, tenderness and succulence are unrivalled. Our beef burgers are made from whole cuts of British and Irish beef, with just a pinch of salt and pepper added after cooking. Students then undertook a complete tour of the factory following the entire chain from arrival of live cattle to the dispatch point for joints  and cuts of beef. This provided an excellent opportunity for the students to understand the operation of a meat processing facility. They were also able to appreciate why certain specifications are put in place and the implications for farmers of producing cattle outside of these specifications.
Red Poll originated in England as dual-purpose animals. Cows are highly fertile, and calves are small but grow fast. Since this breed is not closely related to other beef breeds, it can be utilized in a crossbreeding program to obtain exceptional hybrid vigor. This breed has been used primarily for grass finishing, reaching market weight at a young age, and excels in meat quality without grain.

For example if the inlet is spaced sheeting of 100mm (4’’) boards with a 250mm (1’‘)space – For the shed with pens of calves then the gap at the top of the wall will have to be at least 1.2 m, preferably 2.2m space boarded. If the shed had cows then the open ridge would have to be wider and the gap at the side at least 1.2m wide. In mild still conditions some livestock housing struggles to achieve an adequate level of ventilation. This can be due to insufficient inlet space and is more often due to insufficient outlet space. The exact amount of space required varies according to the number and size of stock, roof pitch and whether sheeting is spaced.  Table 1 below gives approx space requirements for shed with a central passage and pens of 10 x 300kg calves or pens of 7 x 650kg S Cows.
This breed produces a highly desired car case with the meat being of superb quality, this is due to the intramuscular marbling. The Black Angus  is a large polled breed of beef cattle with a solid black color, and a short, compact body. Black Angus beef is popular with ranchers due to their ease of keeping and large amount of meat produced. Numerous byproducts can also be made from the bone, hooves, hide and fatty acids.
